The Sunlight Men’s Group supports vulnerable refugees and asylum seekers in Leeds who have fled from their homes and now face the challenge of re-building their lives in the UK. The group is specifically for men who are isolated in their new community and finding it difficult to cope independently because of limited English language skills and self-confidence.
The Sunlight Men’s Group organises weekly sessions involving both social and educational activities promoting resilience and good health and well-being.
The group provides one-to-one social and emotional support, helping participants to build confidence, support one another and develop new skills. In additional to activities like first aid training, cooking and English classes, sports games and artistic challenges, we are also hoping to organise a series of outings for the group.
The project runs every Monday 2.15pm - 5.00pm
